the game was beautiful, but moved way too fast and made me dizzy, gave me some kind of motion sickness.
Unfortunately, i wasn't able to enjoy sonic adventure like everyone else. dreamcast was just the next step and the next level. so from all that, i always had love for sega, no doubt about it. however, i did own a genesis (i was pretty much married to the thing with games like spiderman, sonic 2 and shining force 2) and was exposed to the master system from way back. i didnt buy a sega saturn during its lifespan mainly because of cost and the fact sony snatched up some exclusives like FF7 and RE2, so i invested in a playstation and then the N64 came out. I guess there were a few things that got me into dreamcast though. i'm not exactly sure when it was i bought my first dreamcast, but i've owned at least four different consoles. not to mention online right out of the box and great games for pretty much every genre. dreamcast came out and totally changed the look of video games with smooth 3D worlds and 2D games that didnt have to be butchered up or compromised just to fit on a home console (SF3!!!).
psone had bad draw distances and pixelated 3D and N64 had the fog and blurry 3D. around that time, i actually had something like 4 different subscriptions to video game magazines and there certainly wasn't a lack of coverage. I do remember sega's whole ad campaign before and after the dc release here in the states.
